Philosophy
I characterize myself as a “process” consultant, not a “product” consultant. While I have accumulated a great deal of experience and understanding about the challenge of managing people in many different organizational contexts, I am not yet convinced I know it all! I do not believe there is one perfect solution or strategy for all organizations.
Many organizations and executive teams may appear to be similar, but in fact they are all unique. Even organizations with the same mission and purpose can be very different, reflecting different roots, culture and operational style. Each person within a leadership team brings their own competencies, world view and way of relating to the other team members. Therefore, I like to begin a new client relationship by spending time listening, asking questions and getting to know the organization, as well as the people leading it.
In this way, I can relate my knowledge and experience to the client situation and develop a process for achieving the goal of “improved organizational performance through more effective leadership of people” that fits the client organization.
I believe strongly in pursuing interdependent relationships, based on reciprocity, direct communication and accountability. I want to earn your trust and respect as a valued resource for executive team development.
